In August 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated the overall quality of care provided at Kingston Hospital as ‘Outstanding’, following its latest inspection. As well as recognising the dedication and caring commitment of hospital staff, it also reflected our crucial role in raising money for equipment, comforts, research, amenities and staff support that are above and beyond the scope of NHS funding.
Everyone involved with Kingston Hospital acknowledges that this is not a time to stand still, but to move forward and build on the CQC’s ‘Outstanding’ rating. For us this means raising the funds needed to: support high quality clinical research; help transform parts of the hospital estate that require additional investment to create patient-centred spaces, designed to deliver the best quality of care possible; and to purchase the latest medical equipment for better diagnosis and treatment.
Currently our focus is on developing a two storey-extension, expanding the Royal Eye Unit at ground floor level, while creating a new paediatric oncology day care suite at first floor level, which is self-contained but linked to the rest of the paediatric department. In the lead up to Christmas, we are also hoping to help secure four equipment items for the hospital’s surgical wards and maternity, ophthalmology and paediatric services – for further information please click on the link below:
