How we are governed

Kingston Hospital Charity was created under a trust deed executed on 29 May 1996 and constituted with a sole Corporate Trustee, the Board of Directors of Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The ongoing management and decision-making of Kingston Hospital Charity has been delegated by the Board to the Charitable Funds Committee. It is required, amongst other responsibilities, to:

  • Manage the investment of funds in accordance with the Trustees Act 2000
  • Ensure that funding decisions are appropriate, consistent with our aims, and provide added value and benefit to Kingston Hospital patients and staff, above those afforded by NHS funds.

Kingston Hospital Charity’s Director reports to the Charitable Funds Committee on all fundraising and administrative matters. In addition to the Director, there are two other members of the team, a Fundraising Manager and Charity Administrator.
