Serge Lourie raises over £12,000 after completing the London Marathon's 2.6 Challenge

Former Leader of Richmond Borough Council Serge Lourie, who has also served as a non-executive director at Kingston Hospital, has successfully raised over £12,000 after recovering from COVID-19.  He spent ten days in Kingston Hospital, including three in intensive care, at the end of March.

More used to running marathons, Serge took on the London Marathon’s 2.6 Challenge on 26 April and walked 2.6 miles with his wife Julia, to thank the staff at the hospital. After completing the walk, he commented:

“I just cannot say strongly enough how grateful I am to all the staff at Kingston Hospital and the paramedics who took me there by ambulance.  I believe they saved my life.  They were all completely wonderful and deserve all the praise they have been getting.”
