Many thanks to Stephen Wallace who used his 50th birthday to raise nearly £1,800 for Kingston Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. Instead of cards and presents, he asked family and friends to make a donation to Kingston Hospital Charity in memory of his good friend Rob Gale. Towards the end of Rob’s life, the Intensive Care Unit cared for him, in as dignified and compassionate way possible. Their care not only extended to Rob but his wife and children too.
Stephen was keen to raise funds for the Intensive Care Unit as ‘small gestures, extended by those (often) underfunded units, are ones that make all the difference to the patients and families that find themselves using them, especially in a time of great need.’
