The difference you'll make

When you take part in Walk This Way, you’re doing more than completing a challenge, you’re helping transform care for

patients across Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.

Every step taken and every pound raised helps fund projects, equipment and enhancements that go beyond what NHS funding alone can provide, supporting patients, families and staff when it matters most.

Last year, participants in our Night to Remember Walk raised an incredible £50,000, which has helped fund the introduction of contrast enhanced mammography at Kingston Hospital.

This innovative technology provides a faster and more cost-effective alternative to breast MRI for selected patients. It helps clinicians diagnose breast cancer with greater certainty, reduces waiting times, and allows patients to receive answers and treatment decisions sooner —easing anxiety during an already difficult time.

By fundraising for Walk This Way, you will be helping to enhance the treatment and care provided across Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, as well as bringing comfort and hope to those who need it most.

Together, every step truly makes a difference.

Why walk this way?

Here's what some lovely people said about why they took part in our previous Night to Remember walks.

“I am walking for Kingston Hospital Charity because both my husband and I have had cancer and received our treatment at Kingston Hospital. Mine was nine years ago, and I’m now nine years all clear. During treatment for a heart attack, doctors discovered that my husband had bowel cancer.

He received his treatment with Dr Bloom, and we are so grateful for the care we have both received. We will be taking part again next year for this wonderful charity, which means so much to us as a family.”

“In 2023, I was very ill and spent time in intensive care at Kingston Hospital. The staff there looked after me incredibly well — they got me back on my feet and started me on the road to recovery.

The following year, my son was diagnosed with stage one kidney disease, and once again Kingston Hospital took great care of him. It’s a lifelong condition, but the hospital teams have supported him and helped him get the care he needs.

So I thought, what better way to say thank you than by raising money and taking part.”
