Charitable support has funded the refurbishment of the psychiatric assessment cubicle to provide a more comfortable and pleasant environment for patients and their relatives or carers.

The cubicle has also been fitted with specially designed furniture which meets mental health requirements and is suitable for challenging behaviour environments.

Wall mounting the existing patient monitors used in the resuscitation room, has enhanced the patient experience, while improving the emergency team’s ability to offer top level care.  Wall mounting the monitors in each cubicle has allowed old shelving to be removed, enabling true 360 degree access to some critically unwell patients. Opening up the space has also enabled patients to be safely transferred from ambulance trolleys to emergency department beds, while allowing full sized beds to more readily fit, for patients who require them.  It also provides more room for relatives to sit.
