The hospital is continuing to play a central role in responding to the coronavirus crisis and we are very grateful for the wonderful response we received from across our community during the first national lockdown last spring. This meant a great deal to our staff at such a challenging time.
While the vaccine roll-out now underway promises better times ahead, the NHS is facing its toughest ever test this winter. The ongoing pandemic is creating very significant additional pressures and measures are in place to continue to support our staff, in line with the hospital’s commitment to their physical and mental health and wellbeing. These include the provision of healthy snacks for our ward staff and a hot evening meal for those working nights. We are also helping to ensure there are appropriate resources in place to support our staff’s mental health, given the relentless pressure many have been under for many months now. This will remain a key focus beyond this winter, as we move into the recovery phase and as life returns to something resembling normality.
If you would like to show your support for our staff’s health and wellbeing now and over the coming months, you can make a donation and leave a message here. Please remember to include in your message that your donation is to support our staff. Alternatively, if you are planning to undertake some fundraising please visit our Fundraise page here.
