Support from local community helps to make Christmas for the patients in hospital a little easier

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the many generous donations we received over the festive season for the patients spending their Christmas at Kingston Hospital.

For the third year, we are so grateful to Russell-Cooke Solicitors who generously donated presents for the children that were bought by staff at their Holborn, Kingston and Putney offices.  For those unable to provide a present, a fundraising page was set up which raised a marvellous £530 for the Paediatric service.  Partner, Sam Little made a special visit to drop off all the presents.

Thanks to Bentall’s department store who raised huge smiles on Sunshine Ward when they organised a surprise visit of a very special guest, Santa Claus, complete with two accompanying elves. Santa chatted to the children and made everyone a balloon animal of their choice.

We are so grateful to Chelsea FC Women’s team who continued their on-going support of Kingston Hospital by providing huge sacks of goodies for the children on the wards and supplying mince pies for the frontline staff.  They also sent season’s greetings to patients, staff and volunteers in a video message. Chelsea superfan, Aaron, couldn’t believe his eyes when he was surprised with his presents!

Thanks also to the staff and amazing customers at The Works.co.uk retailer in Eden Street, Kingston for their generosity in supplying hundreds of Christmas gifts for the adult patients in our elderly-care wards.  A wonderful array of puzzles and crossword books, biographies and fiction were delivered to us just before the special day.

Professor Puzzle, the UK-based specialist puzzle wholesaler and manufacturer in Twickenham, surprised us all with a delivery of 5 enormous boxes packed with beautifully designed games and jigsaws that brought huge comfort and joy to our patients.

Sincere thanks to all the staff at Tiffin School who generously donated a fabulous array of brand new toys for our children (pictured above).  Thanks also to Illy and her team at Elior UK, the catering division at Kingston University, who took time out of their busy schedules to supply and beautifully gift-wrap a whole host of Christmas gifts.

Huge thanks also go to Paul Cockle from Angel in the Hood and Tess and Katy at RB Kares, along with their supporters who provided gifts too.

Thank you to everyone in our community for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
