Phillip takes on the Three Peaks Challenge

Phillip Dowling is taking on the Three Peaks Challenge in September with good pals Dylan and Duane in support of Kingston Hospital Charity, Cancer Research UK and Maggie’s. Their aim is to climb Scarfell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon in 24 hours and raise over £2,500 to be shared equally between these three charities.

As Phillip explains:

“In March last year, Lou, my wife, found a lump in her breast which turned out to be stage two cancer and the news hit us like a tonne of bricks. At 30 years old, the last thing you are thinking of is cancer and it absolutely rocked us. Although this was all happening during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lou’s perseverance blew me away. Firstly, with processing the initial news, then with the operation and how she kept a grip of her anxieties, through her recovery and ongoing treatment. We were visiting hospital three times a week – for cancer treatment and post-surgery physiotherapy, for IVF injections because the medication was preventing Lou being able to conceive, and for radiotherapy.”

We are looking forward to digging in our heals in September to raise awareness and support of our chosen charities in aid of Lou and every single person that has encountered cancer.
