‘Lean On Me’ by Kingston Hospital’s Wellbeing Choir

With Kingston Hospital Charity’s support, the hospital’s first ever online Wellbeing Choir has completed five weeks of rehearsals to produce a superb rendition of the Bill Wither’s classic, Lean On Me. Staff members have embraced the challenge of learning harmonies and melodies via Zoom, gathering online to be led by the contagious enthusiasm of Mary Bourne, a Kingston-based choir leader.

The Wellbeing Choir was launched to provide a window of ‘normal’ in the midst of the pandemic, providing a chance to try new skills, experience the joy of singing with others and have some much-needed fun. This inaugural group has drawn members from across the hospital – including a particularly strong showing from the maternity department – many of whom would never class themselves as ‘singers’ but have loved the experience.
