Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Healthcare at the Health Business Awards 2018 last December.

The hospital was commended for becoming the first acute NHS trust in London to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating by the CQC for being well-led. The Health Business Awards also highlighted that cancer care is a particular area of excellence, as Kingston Hospital has consistently been one of the best performing NHS trusts in London for achieving targets. It was also chosen to be part of a pilot to cut cancer waiting times down even more.

Kingston Hospital was also praised for its excellence in dementia care, having transformed two of its three elderly care wards to be completely dementia friendly with the support of Kingston Hospital Charity.  Kennet Ward is expected to undergo refurbishment during the summer of 2019.

The Health Business Awards do not accept entries to their award categories. Kingston Hospital was put forward for this award by the researchers at Health Business Awards and was chosen as the winner based on its standout achievements during 2018.
