After her father, Chris, passed away at Kingston Hospital in June 2019, Jasmine has taken on several running challenges in his memory. She started with the 10k Chase the Sun in 2019, a half marathon in 2020 and a virtual version of the London Marathon, which she successfully ran around Richmond Park, on the day of the actual event on 3 October 2021. Jasmine acknowledges that running has really helped her to process the loss of her father over the last few years. She has also really enjoyed fundraising in his memory, raising money for the hospital that helped him so much during his illness.

Although delighted to have successfully completed a virtual version of the London Marathon, Jasmine was determined to take on the real thing and was given her chance on Sunday 23 April 2023, as one of the 47,000 people who took part.

Jasmine said:

“I am so happy to have run the London Marathon for Kingston Hospital Charity and for my Dad. He was a marathon runner and I know he would love the fact that I ran the big one. I just wish he could’ve been there to run it with me! I hope my marathon and fundraising efforts can show how thankful I am to Kingston Hospital for providing my Dad with so much help and care throughout his battle with cancer.”

To date, Jasmine has raised nearly £5,000 for Kingston Hospital Charity, having raised almost £2,000 from her participation in the 2023 TCS London Marathon.
