HRH The Countess of Wessex visits the Royal Eye Unit

On Thursday 2 October Kingston Hospital hosted a visit from HRH The Countess of Wessex to the Royal Eye Unit.  As a Patron of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), Her Royal Highness was keen to meet Eye Clinic Liason Officer (ECLO), Sabeena De Saram (pictured), whose post is jointly funded by the RNIB and Kingston Hospital Charity, and learn how people losing their sight receive vital support to help them cope when they are diagnosed.  Presentations were given by Lead Clinician and Consultant Ophthalmologist Hooman Sherafat and patient, Renee Dipple, and Sabeena spoke about the practical help and emotional support she gives to patients.
